A competition of breeding cows was held at the international agro–industrial exhibition "Agrovolga - 2022" in Tatarstan. Russian judges with an international judging certificate have selected the best animals from 40 heifers of the Holstein breed, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
"For the second year in a row, a competition of breeding cattle of dairy orientation is held in Tatarstan. He received a lot of positive feedback last year. 93 cows from 38 breeding farms took part in it. These are advanced agricultural enterprises, where the productivity of cows reaches the world and European levels," said Marat Zyabbarov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.
This year, three main nominations were determined in the competition. So, the grand champion was a heifer - netel of the SPKH "Kyzyl Yul" of the Baltasinsky district, which was born from the bull of the producer of JSC GPP "Elite" Wilder Wall.
The cow from the farm "Vostok" of the Kukmor district was recognized as the vice-champion, and the cow from the agro–industrial complex "Food Program" of the Mamadysh district was recognized as the champion. The winners in other categories were also determined in the competition.
The animals were evaluated according to linear exterior features approved by the World Federation of the Holstein-Frisian Breed. All signs are divided into complex blocks – dairy cows, fatness, physique, udder and limbs. In addition, one of the criteria is gait.
